Your care should start with a low vision evaluation by an optometrist who specializes in low vision rehabilitation. The low vision examination is not the same as the retinal or general eye examinations you have experienced.

Our low vision unit is designed to help people with impaired sight use their remaining sight more effectively. By performing a low vision examination, also called a functional vision assessment, we evaluate how you use your remaining sight in performing daily living tasks. Based on this exam, our optometrists can prescribe the latest customized low vision device for distance use, television Reading and if suitable intraocular lens implant that will restore and make the most of your remaining sight.
